Everything Snapr does

The whole product, in one list. The plan table above shows what each plan holds.

  • Guests scan a QR code and upload from the phone browser. No app, no account, nothing to install.
  • Unlimited guests. There is no cap on how many people upload.
  • Photos and video both, from the same upload page.
  • Live slideshow on any TV, projector or Chromecast. New photos appear seconds after they are taken.
  • Single-photo or grid layout on the big screen — one at a time for the speeches, a grid for the dance floor.
  • The QR code stays on screen through the party, so guests who arrive late still join in.
  • Photo booth mode turns a tablet, laptop or phone you already own into a booth: photo, collage or boomerang.
  • Six QR code designs for table cards, invitations and posters.
  • Private by default. The gallery opens only from the link or the QR code, and is never public or searchable.
  • An access code on the event when you want a second lock on the door.
  • The host creates the event and gets the QR code without an account.
  • Download every photo from the event in one click.
  • Original quality kept, so the files are worth printing.
  • Photo approval: nothing reaches the wall or the gallery until you approve it.
  • Your own logo on the QR code and on the big screen.
  • A photo book as a PDF, built from the original files, ready to print.
  • Works in every country. Guests need only a phone with a browser, and the interface is in twelve languages.

Quick picks

  1. Cheapest unlimited uploads with a live slideshow

    Snapr

$29 once for unlimited uploads and a year of storage, live wall included. The next cheapest unlimited plans with a slideshow are $29 and $29,99.

  2. No account to start

    Snapr

The only tool here where the host gets the event and the QR code without signing up first. Every other tool asks for an account before anything works.

Γενέθλια: what size plan you need

Γενέθλια is typically 5–50 guests. At around three photos each that is 15–150 uploads. Snapr's 200 free uploads cover that, so Premium is worth paying for only if you want the photos kept a year.

How these tools work

All of them do the same core thing. The host creates an event and gets a QR code. Guests scan it with the phone camera and upload from the browser, with no app and no account. The photos land in one private gallery and, on most tools, on a live slideshow at the venue. The differences are price, the size of the free plan, how long the photos are kept, and the extras: guestbooks, RSVP, moderation, print templates.

The three things people try first

They are free, and they are why these tools exist.

WhatsApp A WhatsApp group is free and everyone has it. That is where its advantages end. Photos arrive compressed, half the guests never join the group, nothing can go on a screen, and the good photos are buried under three hundred messages by the next morning. Snapr is free for 200 uploads, keeps the originals on Premium, puts every photo on the venue screen as it is taken, and gives you one download afterwards.

Google Photos A shared Google Photos album keeps full quality and costs nothing. But every guest needs a Google account and an invitation, there is no QR code to scan and no live slideshow, and you will spend the evening explaining how to join. Snapr needs nothing from guests but a camera, shows the photos on the screen as they arrive, and costs $29 once if you want them kept a year.

Disposable cameras Disposable cameras are charming and give you a physical keepsake. They are also the most expensive option here: ten cameras plus developing cost more than any tool on this list, you wait weeks, and most frames are the ceiling, a thumb or the same table twice. Snapr costs nothing to start and $29 for unlimited, the photos are on the screen the same night, and every guest with a phone is a camera.

In beta now

Beta

We are building these now. You can switch them on in beta today, and they join Premium when they are finished.

  • A guestbook for greetings from your guests
  • Invitations with RSVP
  • Moderation — approve photos before they appear
  • Print templates for QR posters and table cards

Questions people ask

What is the cheapest wedding photo sharing app?

The cheapest paid plan we found is Digipic at 149 SEK (500 photos, kept three months). For unlimited uploads with a live slideshow, Snapr at $29 once. Free plans exist at Snapveil (250 photos), Snapr (200 uploads with the slideshow), Kululu (100 uploads, 7 days) and, at 50 uploads each, LensGo, Guestpix, Wedibox, Digipic and Snaplet. GuestCam, Easy Wedding Album, PartyCam and Momentshare have no free plan.

Do guests need to download an app?

Not for most of these. Snapr, Kululu, GuestCam, Guestpix, Wedibox, LensGo, Snapeen, Snapveil, Momentshare, Fotify, Digipic and Snaplet open in the phone's browser from a QR code or link, with no account. POV uses an iOS App Clip or Android Instant App. PartyCam's guest camera runs in the browser; the host uses an app.

Which wedding photo apps store photos in the EU?

LensGo (Frankfurt), Snapveil (Germany), Digipic (EU/EEA) and Momentshare's paid plans state EU storage on their sites. Snapr stores photos in the EU, GDPR-compliant. The others do not state a location on their pricing pages.

Do I need an account to set one up?

With every tool here except Snapr, yes. Snapr lets you create the event and get the QR code without an account; you make one later to claim the event and keep it reachable from other devices.

How does QR code photo sharing work at a wedding?

You print the QR code on table cards or a sign, or show it on the slideshow screen. Guests point the phone camera at it, a web page opens, they pick photos and upload. The photos appear in your gallery and, with a live slideshow, on the TV or projector within seconds. Afterwards you download everything in one file.
