How video sharing works for engagements

Snapr makes video sharing for your engagement simple and effortless. Create an event in seconds, get a unique QR code, and share it with your guests. They scan the code and upload photos directly — no app download needed.

Video sharing lets guests upload MP4 and MOV clips through the same page they use for photos. A clip counts as one file toward the event's limit, and it plays in full in the slideshow — the screen waits for the video to end before moving on.

Everything is included in the free tier: up to 200 photos, live slideshow, QR code, and 14-day storage. Need more? Premium keeps the photos a full year, with original-quality downloads and unlimited uploads, for a one-time payment.

Setting up Video Sharing

  1. 1Tell guests to use Choose from gallery for video — the Camera button on the upload page takes still photos only.
  2. 2Ask for short clips: the toast, the entrance, one song. A 100 MB ceiling is roughly a minute of 4K or several minutes at normal phone quality.
  3. 3Each clip uses one of the 200 free slots, the same as a photo — but at 100 MB per file it uploads far more slowly on venue wifi.
  4. 4Upgrade before the evening starts if video is the point: unlimited files and a year of storage instead of 200 and 14 days.

Video Sharing — the specifics

Video formats
MP4 (.mp4) and MOV (.mov) — what iPhone and Android produce by default.
Max per clip
100 MB, the same ceiling as a photo. In practice this is what stops long clips, before any length limit does.
Length setting
Events carry a max video length of 10 minutes (600 seconds) by default.
How it counts
One clip = one file toward 200 (free) or unlimited (Premium). Photos are resized for display, but video is stored exactly as uploaded.
On the big screen
The slideshow plays the clip to the end, then advances — it does not cut at the 5-second photo interval.
Where to add it
The Choose from gallery button only. The in-page Camera button captures photos.

When something goes wrong

A guest's video is refused as too large.

The cap is 100 MB per file, and a few minutes of 4K passes that easily. Ask them to trim the clip in the phone's own photo app and upload the trimmed copy, or to record in 1080p rather than 4K for the rest of the evening.

One long clip parks on the big screen and holds up the slideshow.

The slideshow waits for a video to finish instead of switching after 5 seconds, so a five-minute clip is five minutes of screen time. Delete it from the gallery in the dashboard, or ask for clips under about 30 seconds when you brief guests.

The event runs out of space and it is mostly video's fault.

Free events stop at 200 files, and a long clip fills a slot just as a photo does. Upgrading the same event for a one-time 199 NOK removes the file limit, and keeps what is already uploaded.

What it is not good for

It is not a place for long recordings: at 100 MB per file a full speech or a whole ceremony belongs somewhere else. Video is never trimmed or re-encoded on the way in, so the limit is the raw file size.

Frequently Asked Questions

What guests and hosts ask about most.

Is Snapr worth setting up for a small, intimate engagement party?
Yes — even with just family and close friends, having everyone's photos automatically collected in one gallery is easier than piecing them together from group chats, and the free plan comfortably covers a gathering this size.
Can we keep the engagement photos private to just the people who were there?
Yes, there's no public listing — only guests with your QR code or link can view or add photos, so the moment stays between the people you invited.
Can we save the photos as a keepsake before the wedding planning takes over?
Yes — download the full gallery whenever you like. If you want to hold onto it longer than the free 14 days, a one-time premium upgrade extends storage to a full year.
