But every guest needs a Google account and an invitation, there is no QR code to scan and no live slideshow, and you will spend the evening explaining how to join. Snapr needs nothing from guests but a camera, shows the photos on the screen as they arrive, and costs $19 once if you want them kept a year.

Do guests need an app with Snapr or Google Photos?

Snapr: no app, no account; the QR code opens a web page. Google Photos: the app, and an invitation to the group or album.
